Spanish is Fun offers a variety of programs for adults to learn and practice Spanish. Our classes motivate you to accomplish your goal of learning a new language.

OUR LEVELS
BEGINNER I
Students learn to make introductions, express feelings, ask questions, and hold a basic
conversation about everyday situations, family, time, clothing, and food. Also, they’ll acquire more than 1,000 words, 50 present tense verbs, and the basic tools of grammar needed to construct sentences. Aspects of Hispanic culture are featured.
BEGINNER II
Students learn to use the present continuing tense, future tense, read short stories,
make commands, use prepositions, and talk about leisure activities, the weather, and emergencies. Students develop confidence asking questions and understanding basic situations. They will learn more vocabulary and verbs, including irregular verbs.
INTERMEDIATE I
Students participate in more complicated conversations, expand study of present, past,
and future tenses, memorize and use a variety of irregular verbs, make irregular commands, read reports, letters, and selections of simple literature.
INTERMEDIATE II
Students express themselves without using English, make short summaries of readings, use past and imperfect tenses and compare the two, use direct and indirect objects,
use negative and affirmative expressions; discuss topics like vacations, sports, professions, and shopping, increase their vocabulary, and read a short book and discuss it.
INTERMEDIATE READING AND CONVERSATION
We use specialized curriculum designed to improve the Spanish proficiency of our students. The students increase their vocabulary and comprehension as they read
and discuss in depth the ideas contained in challenging text.
ADVANCED I
Students are introduced to the subjunctive tense, receive a complete review of grammar,
communication, and culture, they deal with common errors and pitfalls, learn about the history of the Spanish language and the geography of the Spanish-speaking world. Works of Spanish literature are introduced, where students learn more vocabulary and practice expressing themselves on a variety of topics. Check out our success story!
ADVANCED II
Students will express themselves with expanded fluency, write about general topics, make
presentations in the Spanish language, participate in social and career related activities, and read literature in order to talk and write about it in Spanish.
ADVANCED READING AND WRITING
We choose a piece of Spanish literature of an adult reading level to explore with
our students. We discuss themes and motifs in each chapter, and clarify questions about grammar and written expression. Students write summaries and reactions to what they read, and our teachers correct common mistakes and misunderstandings that occur.
ADVANCED CONVERSATION
We use a variety of conversation topics chosen from current events in the news, magazines, and newspapers. The students are immersed in a comfortable atmosphere where they can express themselves and discuss topics freely. Our system is focused on increasing the students’ confidence level as they speak to each other–generating real conversation about real topics. Our teachers act as a moderator of conversation, putting special attention on correcting any mistakes that students make.
